Great Lakes Challenge
An Ironbutt Association World Record Ride
May 24 - 27, 2002

Last year, a new Ironbutt Association World Record was set for circumnavigating the Great Lakes in less than 50 hours. In 2002, TeamStrange wants to give YOU the chance to set another Ironbutt record. Join us on the first ever Group Great Lakes World Record ride!  Riders who successfully ride around the "Great Lakes" of Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario in 100 hours or less will earn their place in history as a member of the Great Lakes Challenge World Record Team.

The Great Lakes Challenge will start at the Park Inn and Suites in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. On Friday evening, meet and greet your fellow riders at the Pre-Rally Banquet while you enjoy a BBQ dinner with all the trimmings. Saturday morning, you’ll be off! Ride at your own pace, alone or with a group. You just need to follow our course and finish in 100 hours or less, and you’ll be part of the World Record Team! In addition, look for the usual TeamStrange fun, frivolity and trinkets too.

This ride has been sanctioned by the Iron Butt Association as an official Great Lakes Gold Group Record Ride. Finishers will earn recognition by the IBA for their efforts in setting the record as follows: Riders finishing in 50 hours or less will earn Ironbutt Association membership and be eligible to receive the IBA's Great Lakes Gold certificate.  Riders finishing in 75 hours or less will earn Ironbutt Association membership and be eligible to receive the IBA's Great Lakes 100 certificate.  Riders finishing in 100 hours or less will not earn IBA membership, but will be eligible to receive the IBA's Great Lakes 100 certificate.

If you were part of the TeamStrange GSS World Record Team in 2001--or wanted to be--this ride is for you.

If you love riding in peaceful solitude through the beautiful north woods--or if you like the hustle and bustle of urban riding--this ride is for you.

If you want to ride the Ironbutt Rally in 2003--this ride is for you. A "bypass the drawing"
IBR spot in the '03 Ironbutt Rally will be awarded to one lucky, randomly selected rider
who finishes the GLC's 2450 mile ride in less than 50 hours.

If you want to ride a unique rally--challenging, fun and rewarding--join us for the Great Lakes Challenge.

GLC Finishers, send your final paperwork to:
