Grand Tour of Georgia

Tribute to Jim Weaver

2016 Grand Tour of Georgia

April 01 through November 15

to benefit Murphy-Harpst "Life & Hope for Children"

Registration is Open - Visit Ridemaster

This year’s Grand tour of Georgia is a tribute to Jim Weaver who founded the tour in 2010 and, sadly, passed away in 2015. The locations chosen for 2016 reflect various spots that Jim loved to ride to. You’ll notice a lot of them center around food, history, and transportation. Three things that Jim loved to combine with his love of motorcycles.

To complete the challenge, which runs from April 01 through November 15, you must document visiting 17 of the 20 locations. Your rider fee ($30 single, $40 two-up) helps support the great work of Murphy-Harpst – Life & Hope for Children!

If you're looking for a great “reason to ride” -- the 2016 Grand Tour of Georgia should prove a fun adventure. Plus, it benefits Murphy-Harpst – Life & Hope for Children!

2016 Grand Tour of Georgia Rules

The 2016 Grand Tour of Georgia provides you a great opportunity to see the beautiful state of Georgia. This is your Passport to some great riding!

In the Passport you’ll find details about 20 checkpoint locations that have been selected for the 2016 Grand Tour of Georgia. To complete this riding adventure you must docu-ment visiting 17 of the 20 locations. And, in 2016 there are 3 required bonus locations.

So, to complete the 2016 Grand Tour of Georgia you must visit the 3 required locations and at least 14 more (a total of 17 documented check-points) of the 20 locations between April 1st and November 15th. But, you’re welcome to visit all 20 checkpoints!

Again in 2016, checkpoint locations may be visited in any order. Also, this year the hours of operation for some checkpoints vary and access to others may require an ad-mission fee. So, you’ll need to confirm days and times that locations are available when planning your trip(s).

To become a certified 2016 Grand Tour of Georgia Finisher:

  • You must submit your Passport along with documentation (e.g., photograph, receipt, etc.) of your 17 or more checkpoint visits.

  • The front of your Grand Tour of Georgia Passport must be visible in all photographs.

  • Your motorcycle or vehicle is not required to be visible in the photos.

  • The date and time of each checkpoint visit must be written legibly on the corresponding page of your Passport.

  • All photographs must be printed in at least a 4 X 6 format.

  • If you visit a checkpoint that is missing or permanently closed, please obtain a receipt from any local business or an ATM machine. The receipt should clearly show your location (city name), date, and time. Save the receipt and then include it with a brief explanation as documentation of your checkpoint visit.

Please mail your Passport, photographs, and any other documentation to the address below no later than November 21, 2016. If you want your Passport and photo-graphs returned to you, please include a self-addressed and postage prepaid envelope.
