Dear Readers,
Boy! did we get mail this week. Stuff like
Dear Dirk,
Does Team Strange feel bad about the fact that they have taken people away from their families during Minnesota State Fair time?
There are children with only one hand being held as they cross Dan Patch Ave. What about the Team Strange booth? Where
will the countless thousands get their LD event on a stick? Will the Pork Chop on a Stick
sales be lower because Eddie and Adam are heading to California?
Thanks,
Jay "Dog Killa" Golden
Yo' Doggie style,
The TS clowns don't feel bad about nothin'--unless they're stupid enuf to be comparin' theirselves to the dirkster, I mean. Seems to me that any "family type" event is not really somethimg I'm qualified to answer anyway, so why don't you give me a more realistic scenario? You know, like one where I come over to help the lady get the turtle out from behind the dryer and she start's a wonderin' how she's gonna pay me
and she don't have no money and then......
Well, you get the gist.
Have fun at the fair, I guess.
Dirkster.
From "Fast" Larry Cooper in Ohio:
I hear that Mike Phelps was seen doing chiropractic adjustments
to nubile young ladies by the pool at the Live Oak, any truth to that?
Hey Larry,
'course it was true. Every star has a warm-up act. Sorry 'bout your nickname, though. Can't relate to it enough to give you any advice.

uhhh Al,
This is an advice column, not a "send us the thing you hate to
hear your wife say" contest.
Better luck next time.

The Live Oak Resort is the absolute best starting point for any rally. Period. I hope that it becomes the permanent Start/Finish point! The host are wonderful and love having us there, the food is great, accommodations are close, it's located in an ideal spot in the us for circumnavigation....
PLUS, its OK to get naked!
We're not called the worlds toughest motorcycle riders for nothing. A little nudity is part of the job description.

Ooops!!
With that sig line, he might not have wanted us to know who wrote it.
Never mind.

And finally a different kind of letter:
Howdy Dirk;
Love your articles on the various topics and you make some very interesting points with much truth to them. It sounds like you make
your choices in life based on reality rather than speculation.
Anyway, back to my point. I ride a 82 HD Sturgis Lowrider which I have had for almost 22 years and has in excess of 240 K, I am not anywhere
near the caliber of rider that the LDR folks in your crowd are but I have a strong admiration for them.
My wife and I have a home at Live Oak Resort and I appreciate all the fine comments you made about the club and appreciate you using it for
your start and finish point this year for the BLIII.
Now, for riding in Mexico, a couple years back we loaded up the bike and took off for a month long trip into Mexico just for something new
to do. Of course we to had heard all the horror stories associated with Mexico riding but listened to all comments and just had to go see
if it was truth or fiction.
So, we insured our bike with the proper insurance, had all our papers in order and headed south. "Dos cervesa Corona, porfavor con queso" is about all we knew. Other than going thru militia check points every
75 miles or so, there was never a problem with the country or the people. We treated people with respect and were treated with respect.
We had a lot of fun, saw some beautiful country and 32 days later when we reentered Texas over the Pharr Bridge we both said we were glad
that we decided to make the trip. Will we do it again, absolutely, only one problem...North America has soooo many roads.
What a shame not one rider chose to go visit a Pemex Filling Station.
Keep up the great thinking and writing;
George & Bubba
Hey George and Bubba,
A couple thoughts;
A) With that kinda miles on the scoot, you'd DEFINITELY fit right in with these riders. A real fun group--best I've ever met.
B) With that sense of adventure and willingness to go new places, sounds like you'd do great in a rally--hope to see you at the start line in '04.
C) You wrote: "My wife and I".
So.....which one's Bubba?
See you at the finish,
Dirkie.
