loyal readers,

In a totally new twist for the last leg of the Buttlite (what are they gonna do--throw me out now?) I've gotten a copy of the leg IV routesheet early and am hereby spilling the beans about the most likely places to see BL riders in action. Here we go.

A)  Los Angeles area people will most likely see MANY riders come through on I-5 and get off on Wilshire Blvd going to Beach Boy Carl Wilson's gravesite. A reasonable prediction would be to estimate travel time from Bakersfield to LA, and add 30 minutes to an hour for riders to read their routesheets and figure out where they're gonna go. Word is that as Eddie is a huge BB fan, this bonus shows up on every routesheet variation.

B)  Kansas/Kansas City area natives already should know about the 1st Sunday goings-on in Cassoday KS. Look for TeamStrange staffer Bob Waitz--the riders will be. As Bob will be sporting his trademark kilt and machete fashion statement, he should easily stand out from the crowd--even in Cassoday. Rumour is that Bob wouldn't work the event unless they made him the largest point bonus on the rally. Now look at the distance the riders will have to go in the timeframe they have to deal with--this one is a potential rally-winner folks--you're hearing it here first.

C)  Take Bob Hall (the fishing pier jutting out into the Gulf of Mexico just south of Galveston, TX). Add Bob Hall (the rider who won last years IronButt Rally by riding to a state jutting out into the Arctic Ocean). The riders need to get a photo of the two of them together, and spectators are welcome.

The above pairing goes down on Monday from 6-10 am ONLY. Miss it and you'll be as unhappy as the riders who do the same. Word is that Official TeamStrange Club Girlfriend Ardys Kellerman will also be present. See you there.

D)  Other miscellaneous bonuses (times for riders to show up vary greatly) Brad Dassonville's house; Sonny Bono Statue in Palm Springs; downtown Pagosa Springs; "In Cold Blood" town; the statue of Eddie's favorite Texan on Lovers Lane in Dallas (it's 100 yds west of the Dallas North Tollway); Boca Chica, TX (try to find it!); and the crowd-pleasing beer drinking goat in Lajitas.

Oh yeah, and yet another Stonehenge--this one on FM 1340 about 30 miles west of Kerrville. Where do they find this stuff?

Can Todd Witte pull off the win predicted by many?
Can Tom Roe keep his intensely focused style all the way to TX?
Will Jim Winterer stop being so damn mad?
Will TeamStrange revert to giving riders points for "just being close?"
Will anyone finally go to Mexico?
And what's the deal with that R1 guy--what the HELL is he doing now?

Tune in for more updates--you'll know them when I do.

on the road again,

the Dirk-ometer.
