2026 Grand Tour of Minnesota

Twin Cities, 5-Hour, Pop-Up Rally

October 17, 2026

News Flash! We're on the verge of dragging Team Strange into the 21st century. A few of us — Scott Finn, Rick Corwine, Jim Weatherhead, and others — have been building a rally app. What would Eddie think?! To break it in, we're running a rally. Just a quick one: five hours, and you get to be our beta testers (aka guinea pigs).

We're calling it the Twin Cities, 5-Hour, Pop-Up Rally. It's a five-hour scavenger-hunt-style rally on October 17, 2026, staying within 30 miles of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro. Start and finish is at North Dale Rec Center, 1414 St Albans St N, St Paul, MN. Riders roll out at 8:00 am and return by 1:00 pm. Cost: $35 per rider, $15 per pillion — that includes a cool Team Strange cap, a light lunch, a few other surprises, and possibly a bingo card.

Watch this space — and the Team Strange Airheads Facebook page — for full details and a short how-to video on the app. Collecting bonuses has never been easier: no receipts, no paper rider log, no manual scoring. Take a picture, answer a question, record your odometer, and go — the app does the rest. You'll know your score and have your trophy (or something) by 1:30 at the latest.

You'll need an Android or Apple smartphone to ride. Pretty much anything works, though newer than ten years old would be appreciated. Install the app from the App Store or Google Play (free, obviously) by Thursday night, October 15. There's a virtual rider meeting on Friday, October 16 at 5:30 pm on Zoom, where you'll get the rally packet and GPX files. Everything you need is in the app, but printed rally packets will also be on hand the morning of.

Give the TeamStrange Uniform Rules a read — though the stricter ones only apply to Butt Lite. And good news: we won't be confiscating memory cards, since you won't need a camera beyond the one already in your phone.

Since we're all still learning the app, there are no classes this time — it's a classless rally. You may get to choose hard, medium, or easy on how you approach the rally.
